Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data required to operate the app:

  • Usage analytics — anonymised data such as screens visited and session duration, collected via Firebase Analytics.
  • Device information — device type, OS version, and app version for compatibility and bug fixing.
  • Notification tokens — a device token used by Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver reminders and notifications.
  • Ad-related data — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers to serve relevant ads as per its own privacy policy.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.

YouTube and Audio/Video Content

Audio and video playback is powered by the official YouTube IFrame API. We do not host, store, or cache any audio or video content on our servers.

  • No media files are downloaded or stored by our app.
  • We do not track which videos or singers you listen to.
  • All streaming is handled entirely by YouTube's infrastructure.

When playing a video, you are subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Analytics — Anonymised usage tracking to improve app performance.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — Delivers push notifications and prayer reminders to your device.
  • Google AdMob — Shows in-app advertisements. Ads may be personalised based on user preferences as per Google AdMob's policy.
  • YouTube IFrame API — Streams Chalisha audio/video content directly from YouTube.

Notifications and Alarms

The app offers a reminder feature to support daily Chalisha recitation. For this, the app requests permission to:

  • Send push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
  • Schedule local alarms using Android's alarm services.

You can turn off notifications at any time via your device's Settings → Apps → Hanuman Chalisha → Notifications.

Advertising

The app is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Ads may be personalised based on your interests in accordance with Google's advertising policies.

  • To opt out of personalised ads, visit adssettings.google.com.
  • You can also reset your advertising ID under Settings → Privacy → Ads on your device.

We do not share personal data directly with advertisers.

Data Security

All data transmitted to Firebase is secured using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption. Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, the privacy risk to you is minimal. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Hanuman Chalisha is a devotional app suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or any registration. If you believe we have inadvertently collected a child's information, please contact us so we can take corrective action.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
